Circus Inspiration

Cotton Candy Ferris Wheel~ Maile Lani

I never went to the circus as a child. I know! It came to town quite a few times when I was young, I remember seeing the flyers but I always chickened out when friends or family were going. It seemed creepy then and still a little creepy now. 'Something Wicked This Way Comes', Dumbo losing his mom, and more recently 'Carnival', while not all were circus' but actual fairs or carnivals, the fear has remained. I have been to 3 or 4 of the Cirque du Soleil, and they were wonderful as is the February Anthro catalog. At first I thought it would all be too costumey(that's not really a word) but then I remembered Nigel in The Devil Wears Prada...Give me a full ballerina skirt and a hint of saloon and I'm on board! I gave it a chance and well, Circus inspiration is a keeper. So here are a few circus inspired Etsy finds amongst my favorite Anthro images.

  4. Great post! Very inspiring. Have you ever read 'Water for Elephants'. It's a great novel about circus life. I'd love to have the entire outfit from the 4th photo, it's so cute!
